When life gives you scraps, make a quilt.

Time Flies!!!

Wow Time really does fly when your having fun! Here it is almost the end of the month and I haven't been posting any new updates. Shame on me.

Been busy quilting, well sewing to be exact.
Here is a beautiful picture of the table runner that I made last month, it was such a nice picture, I had to add it in here.

The picture was on the home page of my quilting group a while ago. The owner of the group put the two pictures together and added my name and location to it.

So lets see... I need to share some more pictures with you cause I didn't get a chance to post them earlier. These are the squares from the block of the month that I have been working on. If you remember I did post a picture of the first block that I had finished. Here man can't believe that was back in August! well here are some more blocks from that same quilt of Pam Bono's.

This is block number two:

Here is block number three:

I have block number four finished, I just don't think I have a picture of it. I will have to look and see if I do. If I don't guess I will have to pull out the camera and get my butt in gear!

Aside from all that, I have also been finishing up on my Quilt Diva.... about have her all sewn down and then I can put her and hang her. She is going to accompany me in my sewing room.

I have also (of course I have) started a new block of the month. This one is applique... in fact I am doing needle turn applique. This is the first time for me attempting this type of applique. I figured I could teach myself, but got very frustrated and gave in to the fact that I don't know everything. I went to my mother-in-law for moral support and a quick lesson. She is wonderful... showed me how to do it, and I was off and running. Well I shouldn't say running, as this is a slow process for me, and might take me forever just to finish one block!!!! I guess maybe the correct terminology would be a very slowly paced walk. This is the finished block (mind you its not mine, its what it will look like when complete)

This is mine! It took me a whole 2 days just to applique the star down! Its going to take me forever and then some. But its good, by the time I am done with this quilt I will be the applique queen! At least after 12 blocks of this stuff I would hope I would be queen. LOL

Now please also note I am in the process of appliqueing the leaf and stem down, so no that is not how its going to look when its finished.

Just a quick update on the birds:

Jasmine has re-chewed her wings and her tail feathers. I am blaming it on hormones, as she isn't stressed by her living conditions and in fact she is spoiled (if thats possible)
Indie is still happy go lucky little birdie! Still not talking yet, and probably wont ever, but he is fun to listen to... he makes so many funny noises.

I added a couple more videos, in case no one has noticed. I also added in a picture in the quilts section that I just finished making for a dear friend of mine. It was her Birthday present. Happy Birthday Kathy!!! Hugs

See what happens when I don't post for a month. WOWWee that was a lot, wasn't it. I need to try and post more often.

Happy New Year!

So I have been on vacation, not that I went any where. I was just enjoying time at home away from work. Ah! it was so nice Happy But today was the day for me to return to work... it was a bit long but it finally did end and I was once again able to head for home. Isn't that a wonderful feeling?

Enough of that mumbo jumbo, on with what I was doing with all that free time. WOOT!

I apologize this post might be rather long, I have lots to share, and haven't had internet to be able to share it.
Let us see... I have been spending lots of time sewing, and playing with the birdies. It was so nice not having to be on a schedule!

To begin... I know I slacked off on reporting how Jasmine has been doing with her injection. She was really really good up until about a couple of weeks ago. She then started screaming and she has even started to revert back to chewing on her feathers. Sad oh how this makes me sad, but I am trying not to dwell on her feathers while I am around her. I do not want that negative vibe going to her. I love her no matter what! I guess I just have to look at it in this way... if I was pms'ing for 3 months straight I think I would start to pull my hair (feathers if I had them) out also. Long story short on this... if I can afford to get her 2nd shot for this month, I am going to do it. I do think it has helped her. She has since calmed back down and we had some really good bonding time tonight. She was such a little love dove.

Ok now it is time for some pictures! YEAH we all love pictures right?
well like I said, I have been very busy sewing. I made some table runners for some friends of mine. First time I have made a runner and I think it turned out rather well.
This one was the first one I made, it was for a dear friend in Kentucky.

I have also added all these pictures of completed projects to the quilts page with close ups as well.

Next we have my second one that I completed, same design, but totally different colors. What a difference colors can make, huh?
This was for a very dear friend of mine in California.

I think that will be all for tonight. I want to leave you wanting and waiting for more! I will post the rest of my pictures a bit later.
